Don Kisell excerpt from Pioneer Voices 2007

1964

“…we came down here and worked for PFRA again on construction. At that time, [1962] the Moose Jaw PFRA did all the big construction, and they were working along the west end of Cypress Lake because the water was so low. They were going to put pumps in the lake to get the water out.  The first job I did with them, we’d get a little poly rope and put three sticks of dynamite around it and tape it. We’d wrap a ton of dynamite at a time and we were out on a raft in the Lake. We pushed the raft along and tramped this dynamite into the Lake in mud and then blow it off and that’s how we made the first trench on the west Cypress Lake pump.”
