Ron Tittle Excerpt from Pioneer Voices May 2008

RT-Well, I was ten years old when dad started irrigating. I guess I have seen what it has done, just for this place, the small bit we have. What it has done, it has kept us in cows and all the rest of this area (as well). When you stop and think, there’s about seven thousand, well actually in the RM there is about ten thousand acres under irrigation. Put that in perspective of one ton per acre – that is ten thousand tons of hay which is grown from irrigation, which is really a very conservative figure, because it is really probably like twenty thousand tons of hay grown in this area that we are not trucking in or rounding up some other way.
